Environment Canada is now expecting the Southwest will avoid the severe weather which has impacted other portions of the province.

Shortly after 3 p.m., Environment Canada cancelled their severe thunderstorm watches for the entire Southwest.

With afternoon temperatures in the 25 to 28 Celsius range, and a cold front pushing through Southern Saskatchewan, most of southern Saskatchewan was under storm watches and warnings. They have since cancelled their watches for the Leader - Gull Lake, Shaunavon - Maple Creek - Val Marie - Cypress Hills, and Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake forecast regions.
