A Prince Albert woman is $250,000 richer after cashing in on a lottery ticket.

The woman bought her $6 Lotto Max ticket with Extra for the July 25 draw at Giant Tiger in Prince Albert. A few days later she took the ticket to the store to check it and the staff began celebrating.

“The retailers started jumping up and down,” the woman told Sask. Lotteries. “I thought, ‘Why are they jumping? I probably only won $2.’”

It turned out she was a few numbers shy on the size of her prize.

The Daily Herald will honour a request by the family not to name the winner.

The woman told Lotteries that she is planning to pay some bills and is saving the rest for now, possibly to buy a new home.
