PAPS apprehend fugitive

A tip early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a man wanted in connection with a recent incident at Montreal Lake.

At 2:05 a.m. on Saturday, Prince Albert Police Service members responded to a tip that suggested the man was at an East Hill residence. When police arrived, they located him in the vicinity.

When the suspect spotted the officer, he attempted to flee on foot and was apprehended after a lengthy foot pursuit.

He was arrested for numerous outstanding RCMP warrants and is facing charges of possession of a weapon, resisting arrest and breach of recognizance in connection with a June 30 assault and robbery of a 66-year-old woman at Montreal Lake Cree Nation

Kevin Henderson, 30, of Prince Albert made his first appearance at the Prince Albert Provincial Court on Monday.

Last Wednesday, Shantel Laureen Mike, 26, of Beardy’s Okemasis First Nation was arrested in connection with the same incident and faces several charges.
