With the spring season starting to wrap up, the E.A. Rawlinson Centre is ready to unveil plans for the fall.

A fall preview event will be held at the centre on June 4 to give people a taste of what will be coming next season.

“Our preview entertainment is Dean Bernier, who is a very well known local fiddle player and he’ll be here with his band,” marketing director Linda Jensen said. “He will also be joined for a couple of twin fiddle numbers with his son Wyatt. That should be a real crowd pleaser.”

Wyatt was one of the Search for the Stars contestants a few years ago and has seen a lot of success since and his father teaches strings at Rivier Academy and is well known in the community, she said.

The entertainment segment will start at 7 p.m. and run about half an hour.

After the Berniers perform, there will be a launch of the new season, with descriptions of the different acts for the fall season playing in the theatre. It will run about 45 to 50 minutes.

“It is a really good overview of what people can expect for the fall,” Jensen said. “Following the event in the theatre, which is where the entertainment and the preview takes place, in the lobby we will commence the sale of the subscription series and we will also have coffee and dainties for everyone,” she said.

“It is a really nice afterglow after the event where people can come out and talk about what they saw and visit. It has a really nice feel to it.”

In addition, those who attend will be eligible to enter for three door prizes. First place will be for one subscription series, which is tickets to all 12 shows, second place is their choice of tickets for six shows and third prize is a pair of tickets to any one show, Jensen said.

“That is a really nice thing as well for people to come out and actually have a chance to win some tickets for the next season,” she said.

The event is open to the public and free of charge.

“We are very happy to have our subscribers and advertisers there and our single ticket buyers, but it is also very important to people who have never had the opportunity to attend an event at the centre to just come and check it out.”
