Robber posing as customer flees store after theft

Police are searching for the suspect in a robbery that occurred at a downtown business on Friday afternoon.

Patrol officers responded at 1:07 p.m. to a report of a robbery at a store in the 900 block of Central Avenue.

Posing as a customer, the adult male suspect entered the store and forced his way past the business owner, behind the counter and into the till.

The man stole an undisclosed amount of money and then fled. The business owner was left shaken but otherwise unhurt as a result of the altercation.

The suspect is described as aboriginal and approximately 5’ 10” in height with a slim build. He had long black hair in a ponytail and was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants.
