Charges laid after motorist runs from RCMP following accident

A 24-year-old man will be appearing in court next month to answer to a quartet of charges following a single vehicle collision in Shaunavon early Saturday morning.

Shaunavon RCMP report they attempted to stop a vehicle during the early morning hours of April 12 traveling on 4th St. W. in Shaunavon. The vehicle attempted to flee from the RCMP and ended up losing control and colliding with a light pole. The driver of the vehicle fled on foot. One passenger was uninjured in the incident, while a second male passenger was taken to Shaunavon hospital with non life threatening injuries.

A short time later RCMP arrested Stuart Claydon who was charged with single counts of impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, refusal to provide a breath sample, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, plus flight from police.

Claydon will appear in court in Shaunavon on May 1.
