Buses running to bring community to Centennial Day Extravaganza

Individuals wanting to avoid parking headaches at Swift Current's Centennial Day Extravaganza are invited to take shuttle buses to the Credit Union iPlex.

The City of Swift Current has scheduled a quartet of shuttle bus routes as a worry free transportation option to enjoy the Centennial Day activities which start at 4:30 p.m. at the iPlex.

Routes take in the Southside, West of 6th Ave. N.E., East of 6th Ave. N.E., and north of the TransCanada. Four buses will depart from the iPlex every 45 minutes starting at 4 p.m. The last bus departs the iPlex at 9 p.m. following the extravaganza.

The Southside route makes stops at the Southside Co-op, the main hall of the Prairie Pioneer Independent Housing, Prairie View Lodge, Fairview Rink, Riverview Village Estates, Alpine Village, Oman School, St. Joes School and at the Chelsea Green United on Railway St. E.

The route running west of 6th Ave. N.E. includes stops at Heritage Towers, Shoppers Drug Mart, Central School, St. Pats School, Herbert St. and 6th Ave. N.W., Golden West Manor and Great Plains College.

Individuals on the route covering east of 6th Ave. N.E. can access the bus at the corner of 11th Ave. N.E. and South Service Rd., Irwin School, DJ Manor on 6th Ave. N.E. and Powley St., the corner of 6th Ave. N.E. and Herbert St. E. near the Library, west of Elmwood Grocery, Ashley Park School, and Kin Park.

The fourth route north of the TransCanada Highway includes stops at the Living Sky Casino, The Bentley, Trailview Church, Saulteaux Park, 453 Walsh Heights, Highland Park, 700 Battleford Trail and Keene Drive, and at the Trail Campground Sign.
