The Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association received two international awards: an Agricultural Award of Excellence and an Award of Distinction for Communications from the International Association of Fairs and Expositions (IAFE) headquartered in Springfield, MO.
The Agricultural Award was received for the Discover the Farm: a Farm Facts Experience along with the Ag & Ex Hatching School Program. There are a total of 14 Agriculture Award Categories, each divided into five divisions by attendance, which a Fair of Expo can enter. The entries are evaluated and judged by a team of industry leaders. These individuals are selected from the membership of International Association of Fairs and Expositions, which has over 1,200 members from around the globe.
These awards were presented during the Excellence in Agriculture Breakfast on Dec. 10, during the 123rd Annual IAFE Convention held in Las Vegas. The Swift Current Ag & EX can take great pride in knowing that their event has been selected for this prestigious honour. These awards are sponsored by John Deere, who is an avid supporter of the Fair and Expo Industry around the world.
The Agricultural fair and exposition sector is not only very important to rural and urban economies globally, but also is steeped in tradition and has a tremendously positive impact on the social well being of our rural and urban society.
The Communications Award had a total of 26 award categories divided into five divisions by attendance. The awards were presented during the Awards Reception on Dec. 11, during the IAFE Convention. The purpose of this competition is to improve the advertising and publicity programs of fairs and to provide recognition for those fairs doing an outstanding job.
