Swift Current motorists are being advised of a traffic disruption which will re-route travel around a maintenance project at the CP Rail crossing on Memorial Drive on Wednesday through Friday.
CP Rail crews began performing maintenance at the Memorial Drive (Highway #4) CP Rail Crossing on Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Crews will also be at the work site on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and an additional workday has been added on Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to complete the work which is taking longer than expected.
Northbound traffic will be redirected onto the South Railway St., across the tracks at 11th Ave. N.E., and then back out to Memorial Drive. Southbound traffic will be required to turn into the community at the iPlex, follow Chaplin St. to 10th Ave. before crossing the tracks at 11th Ave. N.E. before being rerouted on North Railway St. E. back to Memorial Drive.
Large trucks are encouraged to use the crossing at Lac Pelletier Trail in order to avoid travel through residential areas.
