Tootoosis' final day on the job as Living Sky General Manager will be January 5, after which he will leave to assume his new position at SIGA’s head office in Saskatoon.
“It’s an opportunity to expand on my career and contribute further to the operational development of this great company. It’s important to note that I will continue to work with the Living Sky Casino and the community of Swift Current. I am proud of the community connections we have made and the business partnerships we have mutually enjoyed,“ Tootoosis stated in a press release.
Tootoosis admitted ending his five and half year term at the Living Sky Casino comes with mixed emotions.
“We have come a long way over the past five years in Swift Current. Living Sky Casino is one of the region’s largest employers; we have built a diverse family of employees and we have made significant economic and social contributions to Swift Current and the Southwest area. I am proud of my casino family and our place in the community.”

Originally from Poundmaker First Nation, his career with SIGA is a remarkable one having commenced employment in 2001 in Human Resources and then transitioning to casino operations at the Gold Eagle Casino as the Assistant General Manager. He successfully competed for the Living Sky Casino General Manager position in 2008.
Tootoosis has 15 plus years in management with senior responsibilities in business operations, project management, budgeting, strategic planning, and Human Resources. His education has been life-long and he is presently enrolled in an Executive MBA program at the University of Regina while working at the Living Sky Casino as General Manager.
