A pair of eye catching Centennial designed City of Swift Current vehicles are in use around the community and serve as another reminder of the approaching celebrations in 2014.

Dave Spencer, Co chair of the Swift Current Centennial Committee, was impressed with the designs added to a pair of City of Swift Current vehicles.

"We're really pleased to have the City vehicles that are decorated with Centennial information," Spencer said. "We just really feel it's important to get the message out to our public to say that we're planning some really great events for next year and we want them to join with us."

When giving a closer look at the photos on vehicles, the designs certainly generate discussion and community pride.

"We invite the community, when they see the vehicles, to take a close look because I'm sure it will bring back memories for some and for others just to remind them that this is a City that has a 100 year history and it's a history that we can all be proud of."

Spencer said with just over two months until the Centennial Day celebration, there is certainly excitement starting to build around the celebrations.

"January 15 is the inaugural date and it's going to be a great event taking place at the iPlex. It's something the community won't want to miss."

"We want to invite members of our community to be volunteers at the various events that we have planned. If they would be interested in doing that they can contact Lenora Bells at the Ag and Ex and she will be happy to include them on our growing list of volunteers."
