Black Bridge Brewery Ltd. is putting plans in place to construct a micro brewery in Swift Current's Munro Industrial Park after reaching an agreement to purchase a one acre lot.
Swift Current City Council approved the land purchase request at their Aug. 19 City Council meeting, selling the one acre lot for $90,000. A 10 per cent deposit has been provided to secure the property for six months, permitting Black Bridge Brewery to complete their planning for the property.
"It is exciting to see more and more interest in our industrial parks," explained Director of Business Development Marty Salberg, "and believe that as we see all the new construction take place, the demand for the remaining six industrial lots containing approximately 19 acres in total will continue to increase."
Black Bridge Brewery owners Clayton and Kari Stenson intend to distribute their beers throughout Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Silverline Construction will construct a 6,000 square foot building for Black bridge Brewery which will contain a 2,000 litre brewhouse, a
taproom with off sale beer and kegs, offices and a future hospitality suite.
Black Bridge Brewery intends to roll out four flagship beers and seasonal beers offered throughout the year. Their products will be unique offerings, intended to be something different than what is offered by the big breweries.
"The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail will be noticed with each of our beers," Black Bridge Brewery said while announcing they expect to be operational by spring 2014.
