Swift Current is hosting one of eight anti bullying consultation public meetings to gather public suggestions and help develop a Saskatchewan anti bullying strategy.
Swift Current's meeting is set for June 10 at 7 p.m. at the Swift Current Comprehensive High School Cafetorium. Swift Current is hosting one of eight provincial consultations meetings planned for the first two weeks of June, with other meetings set for North Battleford, Prince Albert, La Ronge, Yorkton, Regina, Weyburn and Saskatoon,
The ideas and experiences shared during the consultation meetings along with an on-line feedback opportunity will help with the formation of a provincial anti-bullying strategy. The on-line submissions and comments are being taken from June 3 to 21.
This past February, Saskatoon Fairview MLA Jennifer Campeau was appointed as the Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Education - Anti-Bullying Initiative. She is participating in both community consultations and stakeholder meetings during her tour. Campeau is scheduled to meet with representatives from the Chinook School Division during a two-hour afternoon meeting on June 10.
“I am looking forward to hearing ideas from people across the province on how we can prevent and address bullying in our schools and communities,” Campeau stated in a press release. “It is important to work together to find solutions, and although this is a busy time of year, I encourage people to contribute to this important discussion, either online or in person.”
