Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures was a double winner during the 24th annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala in Regina on April 25.
Both Jori Kirk and Krista Berg were saluted with honours during the annual event which shines a spotlight on some of Saskatchewan's most innovative and visionary tourism entrepreneurs.
Jori Kirk, President/CEO and Founder of Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures, was saluted with the Fred Heal Tourism Ambassador Award.
Kirk opened Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures in the Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park in July 2011, and the company has quickly attracted the attention of visitors to the park. In addition to his work with Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures, Kirk is the interim marketing coordinator for the Cypress Hills Destination Area. He also mentors other young entrepreneurs and professionals in the area and passionately shares his story and love for the region during numerous speaking engagements.
The second honour extended to Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures was the presentation of the Service Excellence Award (Individual) to Krista Berg. Berg has worked as a Canopy Tour Guide with Cypress Hills Eco-Adventures for the past two seasons, providing an important first impression of the company while providing zip line tour safety and helping with daily operations. She is a graduate of the experiential tourism and outdoor leadership program at Medicine Hat College, and this coming year Berg will be filling a new role with the company as Lead Guide/First Responder.
