The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure is again closed a portion of the TransCanada Highway east of Swift Current.

Late Friday afternoon the Ministry closed the portion of the TransCanada Highway from Rush Lake east to the Junction of Highway #19 just east of Morse. The roadway is closed as a result of zero visibilities, with ice covered roads along with slush, plus icy or slippery sections.

The remainder of the TransCanada is listed as having winter driving conditions or good winter driving conditions.

Highway #4 south of Swift Current is under a travel not recommended advisory.

Most other highway advisories in the Southwest have been listed, but many people were delaying travel during the supper hour until light snow conditions ended. Swift Current is forecast to receive two centimeters of snow tonight, with Environment Canada calling for another two centimeters of snow on Saturday.

People who have to travel tonight are reminded to visit the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure Highway Hotline website http://hotline.gov.sk.ca for the most up-to-date travel conditions.
