Environment Canada has ended a blowing snow warning for the Southwest, with snow and blowing snow expected to impact all of southern Saskatchewan.
Most of southern Saskatchewan was forecast to receive five to 10 centimeters of snowfall on Sunday, along with 40 kilometer per hour winds with gusts up to 60.
The warning were issued mid Saturday afternoon for the Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake; Gull Lake - Leader; plus the Shaunavon - Maple Creek - Val Marie - Cypress Hills forecast regions.
"An intensifying low pressure system is forecast to track across Southern Saskatchewan Sunday bringing snow and blowing snow Sunday afternoon into Sunday night. In general about five to 10 centimeters of snow is expected over most areas Sunday with localized higher amounts in heavier bands and over the northern slopes of the Cypress Hills. As the system moves east of the area later Sunday, increasing northerly winds will draw in colder air with visibilities becoming reduced in snow and blowing snow. At this time it appears the poorest conditions will be concentrated along and South of the Trans Canada Highway especially over Southeast Saskatchewan by Sunday evening where winds will be the strongest. Conditions are expected to improve Sunday night from west to east as winds diminish."
