After wind chill values as low as -45 were experienced in Swift Current this morning, Environment Canada has ended their wind chill warning for the Swift Current - Herbert - Cabri - Kyle - Lucky Lake forecast region.
It was a bone chilling Wednesday night and freezing Thursday morning, with wind chills as low as -50 recorded in northern and eastern portions of Saskatchewan. However, while wind chill values in Swift Current are forecast to remain in the mid minus 30s this afternoon, Environment Canada is forecasting the temperature to rise to a daytime high of -5 on Friday and zero Celsius on Saturday.
Environment Canada had issued wind chill warning for all but the extreme Southwest portion of the province during the overnight hours as a cold Arctic airmass combined with wind speeds of 15 to 30 kilometers per hour to produce wind chills of minus 40 to minus 50.
