Before plunging into extreme windchill values tonight, the Southwest gets to enjoy a minor reprieve from Old Man Winter.

The morning temperature at the Cypress Hills Provincial Park according to Environment Canada was a provincial best -18, followed by Maple Creek at -20, and Val Marie at -22. This is a drastic contrast to the -40 at Uranium City and -39 at Uranium City. The place where it felt coldest at 9 a.m. was in Yorkton where they recorded a bone chilling -46 windchill value, followed closely by Melfort and Regina at -45.

Swift Current and Lucky Lake both have evening forecasts where the temperature is to fall to -28 Celsius and windchill values of -41 are expected.
