RCMP have cancelled an Amber Alert for a 14-year-old girl from the Maple Creek area.
The 14-year-old girl, along with the 16-year-old male who had reportedly abducted the girl, were taken by family members to the Swift Current Rural RCMP Detachment at approximately 7:20 p.m. on Thursday.
RCMP report both teens are safe and neither required medical treatment.
The 16-year-old from the Maple Creek area was taken into custody. After investigators were able to speak with the 14-year-old, they determined she was no longer at risk and cancelled the Amber Alert.
RCMP extend their appreciation to the media who broadcasted the Amber Alert throughout the day. They also extended thanks to members of the public who helped spread word of the incident via social media.
