Families can enjoy a fun-filled evening Nov. 29 when the Swift Current Downtown Business Association lights up the Christmas tree at the Bank of Montreal Flag Court, with a special visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

The annual downtown Christmas tradition will start at roughly 6:45 p.m., leading up to the tree lighting and the arrival of Sant and Mrs. Claus.

“We’ve got a couple of choirs that are going to be coming down. There’s some kids so there should be some caroling going on, and there’s going to be horse-driven sleigh rides as well this year. It should be a good, festive event," explained DBA President Garry Koebel.

Portable fire-pits will once again lend a festive atmosphere and provide the perfect place to roast giant marshmallows and sip hot chocolate while listening to Christmas music.
