The Swift Current Rural RCMP Detachment are asking for the public's assistance in their investigation of the theft of an antique tractor.
Sometime between Sept. 12 and Sept. 21, 2012 a tractor was stolen from land location 16 13 17 W3. The tractor is a Styled Model D, 1946-47 model John Deere. While the original colour of the tractor was green, it is currently described as very rusty. The first two numbers of the serial number are 16.
Other identifying features are it had electric start. There was a straight pipe rather than the regular muffler. The motor was not in running condition. The radiator cap and spout were missing. There was a hydraulic system on the right front hand side. On the flywheel side there were hydraulic tanks painted grey. The tires were good.
RCMP report two men were seen leaving the scene. They were medium height. One male was heavy set. They were driving a newer, white, crew cab, 3/4 ton, long box truck.
