Swift Current Comprehensive High School students enthusiastically participated in today's Terry Fox National School Run Day.Following a morning assembly the student body walked a three kilometer route from the school along the Chinook Pathway.Saskatchewan wide, a total of over 500 schools were holding School Run Day events, helping raise money for cancer research and the Terry Fox Foundation.A National School Run Day was officially celebrated for the first time in 2005, during the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of Terry’s Marathon of Hope. In just seven short years the national School Run Day has become the Terry Fox Foundation’s largest fundraising event. In fact, Saskatchewan schools are credited with contributing a large portion of the nearly $1 million raised in the province last year.
