Vandals strike in Shaunavon

Shaunavon RCMP reported a series of incidents from this past weekend, including acts of vandalism to the Shaunavon water tower and pump house.

RCMP report sometime after 10 p.m. on Sept. 9, graffiti was sprayed on the water tower and pump house. The damage and clean-up of the graffiti with cost the town an unspecified amount.

During this same time period an RCMP vehicle parked on Centre Street was damaged.

Sometime between the evening of Sept. 9 and morning of Sept. 10, two windows were smashed out of parked car in the 500 block of 2nd St. E. In addition, three vehicles were entered and had various items stolen from them while parked in the 700 block of 2nd St. E. RCMP also reported that in the early morning hours of Sept. 9 a number of items were taken from a vehicle in the 600 block of 1st St. W. Following these thefts RCMP again reminded community members to lock up their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight.

RCMP were also dealing with reports of underage youths consuming alcohol, and a number of $360 tickets for minors possession liquor were issued, along with a $1,050 ticket for an adult providing liquor to a minor.
