A memorial service to mark the 30th anniversary of the death of an RCMP officer will be hosted in Shaunavon today.

Cpl. Ole Roust Larsen was 36 when he was shot and killed while on duty in Climax on August 11, 1981. Cpl. Larsen, a 14 year veteran member of the RCMP, was in charge of the two-man detachment in Climax.

The ceremony, which begins before 1 p.m., will includes a series of speakers along with the unveiling of a memorial plaque.
