Swift Current is bracing for a chilly evening, with Environment Canada calling for an overnight low of minus 26 Celsius and windchill values in the -35 range.

Monday is not being forecast to be much warmer, with a daytime high of -15 Celsius, but when combined with a southern 30 kilometer per hour wind, the windchill values will be dropping down as low as -38.

Sunday's temperature began at a seasonal -8 Celsius at midnight, but the temperature slowly dipped and had already fallen to -18 at 5 p.m.
