Five out of eight wards in the Chinook School Division will have races during elections on October 28.

Incumbents Larry Casewell, Bernie Ford, Randy Beler and Tim Ramage along with newcomer Cassandra Appelgren have gained spots on the school board by acclamation.

In Ward #1 incumbent Eileen Hartman is being challenged by Miles Heck while in Ward #3 the race is wide open with newcomers Tammy Grimm and Timothy Weinbender facing off against each other.

Incumbent Vance Sanderson is being challenged by Rodney Fairbrother in Ward #5, while in Ward #6, the incumbent Daryll Meyer and Gerald Egland will be vying for the seat on the school board.

The incumbent in Ward #7, Gary Shaddock, also faces competition as John Bickner is vying for the position on school board.
