RCMP are asking the public to be on the look out for Michael Sean Stanley, 48, after the high risk sex offender cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet in Lloydminster on Monday.
A high risk offender who removed his electronic monitoring bracelet while in Lloydminster on Tuesday may have been spotted in both Kindersley and Rosetown earlier this afternoon.
In response to the unconfirmed sightings, RCMP have initiated precautions at both Kindersley and Rosetown schools where students are being kept inside and parents are asked to pick up their children at the end of the school day.
Kindersley RCMP reported that there were two unconfirmed sightings of a vehicle operated by Michael Stanley. There were also reports that he was seen on foot in the Kindersley area at approximately 1 p.m.
Rosetown RCMP received a report at approximately 1:15 p.m. of a possible sighting of Stanley in Rosetown.
Lloydminster RCMP issued an advisory on Monday after Stanley, 48, cut off his electronic monitoring bracelet and left the devise on the roof of a Lloydminster business.
Described as a high risk sex offender, Stanley has a long history of sexual offences and has taken kids from playgrounds in the past. He is currently wanted for breach of his court release conditions.
Stanley is described as Metis, 5'9", 190 lbs, black hair and brown eyes. He may be driving a purple 1996 Chevrolet Trail Blazer with a possible Alberta plate BHD1954.
Police advise the public not to approach Stanley if he is located, as he has a violent disposition. If Stanley is spotted the RCMP are advising the public to phone 911.
