Swift Current Broncos forward Taylor Vause is lending his support to a worthy cause as he has been named the 2009 Stamp Out Asthma Raffle ambassador.
Vause, 17, was diagnosed with asthma at the age of five but has still managed to become a high level athlete by managing and understanding his asthma and treating it with proper medications.
In Saskatchewan 16-22 percent of school age children have asthma.
Proceeds from the Stamp Out Asthma Raffle go towards education programs for children and their families, training for health professionals, an Asthma Help Line for Saskatchewan residents to call, support for globally recognized researchers at the University of Saskatchewan in the study of asthma, and research towards finding better treatments and hopeful, some day, a cure.
The grand prize is up to $140,000 in tax-free cash. The second prize is a choice of an exciting vacation or $10,000 cash. Another notable prize is a package for the World Junior Hockey Championships later this year.
Tickets are only $35, two for $60, of four for $100. Anyone purchasing a four-pack of tickets will be entered for a special draw of $1,444 cash.
For ticket information please call the 24-hour toll-free raffle hotline at 1-866-955-6886.
