Saskatchewan Provincial Parks will be enforcing a ban on all alcohol in parks and recreation site campgrounds during the May long weekend.

"Park visitors want to enjoy themselves in a peaceful environment," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Christine Tell said. "Our primary concern is to ensure the safety of park visitors, staff and peace officers."

The alcohol ban will be in effect from midnight on May 14 through to to 11 p.m. on May 18.

Cottages and commercial businesses in provincial parks will not be affected by the ban.
