A total of 62 community group split $107,281 in funding when the City of Swift Current approved their Community Support Grant Allocations for 2013-2014.
The list of organizations receiving community grant funding was formally approved at the March 4 Swift Current City Council meeting. Funding was shared between a wide variety of groups and activities, with only five grant applications turned down because they did not meet the city's adjudication criteria.
The two largest grant allocations have wide reaching impact, with $21,000 awarded to On The Move, which provides year-round youth programming for 10 to 15 year olds. Approval was given to grant $20,000 is support of the Parks Play Program which offers summer programming for five to 12 year olds.
The Hub was allocated $10,000 in funding in support of summer programming for 12 to 17 year olds.
In Motion was granted $8,200 in grant funding.
