Keegan Kristmanson, 5, wears an authentic RCMP Stetson and receives a prize package from Cpl. Mark Langager after being selected as one of six national winners of the 2013 RCMP Name The Foal contest.
A five-year-old Swift Current boy was one of six winners of the 2013 RCMP Name The Foal contest, with his suggestion Kruzer selected as one of the winning names.
Keegan Kristmanson, 5, recently had an opportunity to receive a prize package from Swift Current RCMP Cpl. Mark Langager in recognition of his winning suggestion. Kristmanson received an authentic RCMP Stetson, a set of the 2013 Musical Ride Trading Cards, a Horse and Rider Leaf Pin, a colour photo of the foal he named, and a certificate signed by the Commissioner of the RCMP.
The annual contest calls upon young people under 14 years of age to submit names for six foals born at the breeding farm at Pakenham, ON. This year, all names had to begin with the letter "K". Thousands of name suggestions were received over the course of the two-month contest. The winning names were chosen based on originality and how well they reflected the six foals that may one day be part of the world-famous Musical Ride. Other winning names were Keeper, Kenya, Kofi, Karma and Kasper.
