As a result of the overwhelming response to the season ticket sales campaign, this season’s Stars for Saskatchewan series is near sold out. In an effort to respond to the interest shown in the community the Swift Current Allied Arts Council has arranged to host second performances for three of their upcoming concerts.

Series organizers have arranged for a second show of The Shumka Dancers at 2 p.m. on Nov. 17. They will also be doubling up on both of their series shows in March, adding a Buffy Sainte-Marie concert at 7:30 p.m. on March 7, 2014, plus a second show by the Women of Ireland at 7:30 p.m. on March 19, 2014.

Tickets for reserved seating for these performances can be purchased at the Living Sky Casino Box Office in person, on-line at or by phone at 306-778-5759. For more information regarding these performances or the other series concerts, call the Swift Current Allied Arts Council at 306-773-1338 or 1-877-211-2787 toll free.

The Swift Current Allied Arts Council is marking its 45th anniversary and their theme for the year is “Celebrating 45 Years of Bringing the Arts to You”

The Shumka Dancers are celebrating their 50th year as Canada's only professional Ukrainian dance company. Their back-to-back performances are intended to highlight Shumka’s dance tradition in a whirlwind of colour, power and grace. Their show features 40 dancers in both retrospective and all-new works.

Academy Award winner Buffy Sainte-Marie’s audacious attitude to life on and off the stage has inspired people around the world for over four decades. As one of the most spellbinding artists of our time, Buffy Sainte-Marie gracefully combines a high energy stage presence with cerebral songs that tell powerful stories. This rare and primal blend is a welcome joy to festivals and concert halls around the world.

Women of Ireland is a 20-member company made up of the best female performers within the Irish musical tradition performing alongside other world class musicians, singers and dancers. The full scale stage production produced in Ireland has been described as “mesmerizing” by the Irish Examiner and the talent of the cast as “superhuman at times” and “gripping” by the Sarasota Herald Tribune.
