Sobriety Brings Change is the theme of the Swift Current annual AA/Alanon Round Up on Sept. 14 and 15.
The weekend event begins on Sept. 13 with an Open AA Meeting at 8 p.m. at the AA Clubhouse (155 3rd Ave. N.E.).
Sept. 14 boasts a full line-up of events and speakers at their host venue the Salvation Army Community Church. Registration will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. An Open AA/Alanon meeting runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon, followed by a chili lunch ($5 per person). The afternoon boasts a trio of speakers, with an AA/Alanon/Adult child speaker at 1:30 p.m., an AA Speaker at 2:45 p.m., along with an Alanon speaker at 4 p.m. A roast beef supper and an Alanon/AA Countdown will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Following supper there will be an AA speaker at 8 p.m. The busy day wraps up with an Ice Cream Social, fellowship and a music jam session from 9:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.
Events on Sept. 15 begin at 8:30 a.m. with a pancake, sausage, bacon breakfast. The final weekend event will be an AA speaker beginning at 10:15 a.m.
