Hazenmore, a village of approximately 65 people, is a farming and ranching community located about one hour southeast of Swift Current.
We will be hosting our Centennial Celebration on July 27 and 28.
The small but vibrant community still hosts a variety of businesses such as our local Co-op, South West Terminal, post office, Red Coat Cattle Feeders Feedlot, Red Coat Inn, Club 29, G.L. Electric, Flying Acres Air Service, Mike's Repair, as well as various home based businesses.
The centennial celebration weekend will kick off on July 27 with registration starting at 10 a.m. Coffee and donuts will be served while registering at the Hazenmore Hall.
The Hazenmore Community Church - formerly the United Church - the Anglican Church, as well as the Community Museum will be open throughout the day for guests to visit at their leisure.
The Mayoral Welcome along with the unveiling of our new town sign is sure to be a highlight you won't want to miss. This will be followed by a roast beef lunch served at noon.
A tour of our local Red Coat Cattle Feeders Feedlot will take place at 2 p.m.
A slide show depicting our past, along with a heritage display, will be provided for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.
For those wishing to go back in time, a leisurely stroll through the village can be taken, as there will be signs locating and recounting former and present businesses, and local artisans.
In the early afternoon there will be live entertainment in the Hall.
Supper will be served at 5 p.m., followed by a dedication ceremony at our Commemorative Bell.
Everyone is invited to join in the fun at the dance, where one lucky winner will be drawn for a 50" LG Plasma HDTV.
On July 28 we will have our church service at the Hazenmore Cemetery, followed by a brunch at the Hall.
It is sure to be a weekend filled with visiting and reminiscing.
