SPCA alumni and animals ready for adoption highlighted the 4th Annual Kitty Cat Walk fashion show held at 1 p.m. Mar. 16 at Swift Current Mall.

Show organizer and SPCA vice president Melanie Weinbender was pleased with merchant participation and audience turnout this year.

“We had a few more stores in this year. Suzannes and Alia Tan Jay haven’t been in before, so we had that and we had a lot more alumni back this year too.”

Participation of alumni animals who have found loving homes is encouraging for people who are thinking about adoption.

There are 18 cats at the adoption fair, many of whom have had their adoption fees reduced by donations. A variety of dogs are also in attendance but they are rotated in and out during the course of the day.

“We’ve already sent one cat home on a test drive,” said Weinbender.

The SPCA adoption fair runs Saturday until the mall closes and Sunday from noon to about 4:30 p.m.
