The Shaunavon Hospital & Care Centre will be implementing a temporary disruption of services between the following times:

Thursday, March 7 at 4 p.m. until Friday, March 8 at 5 p.m.

During this 25 hour time period, there will be no emergency outpatient services or acute inpatient admissions available at the facility.  Long term care services will not be affected by the disruption. Regular hours of service will resume at 5:00 pm on Friday, March 8th.

The public are encouraged to call 9-1-1 if they are faced with a medical emergency, and an ambulance will be immediately dispatched to assist with the emergency and transfer to the nearest appropriate acute facility. The nearest emergency outpatient departments are located at the Maple Creek Hospital and the Cypress Regional Hospital in Swift Current.

Residents are encouraged to call the provincial HealthLine at 8-1-1 if they are facing a non-urgent health situation or have a health-related question. This service is available 24 hours per day and callers will be able to speak with a registered nurse who will be able to assist with your questions or suggest appropriate steps to assist with the health situation.

The temporary disruption is due to the short-term unavailability of physician on-call services during the specified time period.
