This morning, the Cypress Health Region has rescinded outbreak status the Swift Current Care Centre, the Prairie Health Care Centre in Cabri and the Cypress Regional Hospital (West Wing, Med/Surg).

Yesterday, outbreak status was rescinded at the Palliser Regional Care Centre, the Gull Lake Special Care Centre, and the Leader Hospital, effective.

An outbreak status remains in effect for long-term care at the Shaunavon Hospital and Care Centre (Unconfirmed Respiratory Illness).

In all facilities, visitors that have not received their influenza immunization are being asked to wear isolation masks provided by the health region.  Portable handwashing stations have also been provided, where available, and visitors will be asked to wash their hands upon entering and leaving the facility. When handwashing sinks are not readily available, Avagard is provided.

The Cypress Health Region is strongly emphasizing that anyone experiencing signs and symptoms of illness should stay away from all Cypress Health Region facilities to reduce the risks of bringing community illness into a facility or transferring facility illness into the community.

Additionally, clients scheduled for a community services appointment who are experiencing signs and symptoms of an illness are being asked to reschedule their appointments.
