Young Swift Current actors and actresses will be in the spotlight on Saturday performing in the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Alice in Wonderland.
After being selected during an audition process, a group of more than 50 local students spent the week in intense rehearsals to prepare for Saturday's 2 p.m. matinee performance of Alice in Wonderland at the Sky Centre. The performance is an original musical adaptation of the Lewis Carroll classic.
Playing the title character, Alice, are local students Mackenzie Froehlich, Mandy Friesen and Raisa Stadnyk. The Missoula Children's Theatre Tour Actor/Director Ted Drury is playing the White Rabbit.
Other featured performers include Dakota Leonard as Margaret, Kennedy Choo-Foo as the King of Hearts, Gage Haubrich as the Knave of Hearts, Presley Reddekopp as the Queen of Hearts, Rebecca Treen as the Mad Hatter, Jayden Hames as the March Hare and Danae Martens as the Dormouse. Desiree Leonard is featured as The Duchess, Brooklyn Bourgeois as the Cook, Kallie Dyck as The Gryphon, Kalea Sauder as The Mock Turtle and Taylor Bezanson as Humpty Dumpty. Tweedledum and Tweedledee are played by Natalie Glinz and Keanna Friesen. Andrew Regier and Payton Reddekopp will play the Fish and the Frog. The Cheshire Cats are played by Mickalie Nicholson, Shaelyn St. Jaques, and Jenna St. Jacques. Appearing as the Caterpillar Head is Autumn Dyck and caterpillar Bodies will be played by Jenna Slowman, Cameron Johnson, Riley White, Taylor Kohls, Kamryn Underhill, and Laura Corrigal.
Hannah Torgrimson, Destiny Martens, Kasie Weston, Kristina Wiebe, Elliot Gross, Rachel Stevenson, Madison White, Kalli Moberg, Josiah Bezanson, and Matthew Epp will play the Cards, and Hayley McClelland, Cierra Kohls, Kacie Auger, Sage Francis, Brooklyn Choo-Foo, Abby Sauder, Sara Booth make up the Flower Band. And finally, Laurissa Francis, Morgan White, Stowe Francis, Kimberlynne Weston, Kai Haubrich, Tori Hansen, Nicole Wiebe, Jael Stevenson, Olivia Gross, and Grace Giesbrecht perform the roles of the Lobsters. Erica Stadnyk, Sierra Francis, Daniel Torgrimson, and Janna Martens have served as Assistant Directors throughout the week.
