A two-hour Zumbathon will be held on June 3 in support of the Relay for Life.

Cancer survivor Christine Ciona is one of the Swift Current Zumba instructors leading the dance class fundraiser from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Recreation Centre. Registration for the family-friendly event begins at 6:30 p.m.

The charity event will be led by Zumba instructors Ciona, Staci Schaitel and Kristin Friesen. The Zumbathon is an opportunity to dance, move, sweat, groove and have fun for a great cause. Participants are asked to wear comfortable workout attire and exercise/running shoes. They should also bring a towel and water bottle.

Fusing hypnotic Latin and International rhythms with easy-to-follow moves,

Zumba Fitness is a Latin-inspired cardio workout. Over 200 area residents take part in the Zumba Fitness classes offered in and around Swift Current.

Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada, and two in five Canadians will develop some form of cancer in his/her lifetime.
