With two major annual fundraisers, May marks a busy month for the local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association.

The organization's popular Mayor's Luncheon is set for May 5 with author and transformational speaker Monica Knight the guest presenter. The luncheon will be held at the Sky Centre in the Living Sky Casino. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program runs from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Later in the month the CMHA stages their 15th annual Jimmy Richardson Walk for Wellness on May 28. Named in honour of Jimmy Richardson, a longtime energetic supporter of the CMHA who passed away in 2008, the Walk For Wellness takes place at Elmwood Park. Registration is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed at 11 a.m. by a leisurely one kilometer walk along the Chinook Pathway. The event wraps up with a barbecue lunch at the CMHA Drop-In Centre at 176 4th Ave. N.W.
