Local photographer Mindy McGregor will have an opportunity to send her images to a gallery in Australia for an upcoming solo exhibition.

Her work is being showcased starting June 5 at a gallery located in a Sydney hotel.

"It is a collection of my art that I have put together over the past year. They are all black and white (photos) except for one. Basically it is showing the landscapes in Saskatchewan, the open spaces and so on. I do a lot of old barns and dilapidated buildings and stuff like that."

The photographic exhibition will help provide a view of home for a number of Canadians that are living in Australia.

"A lot of the people in Australia that are going to be going are former Canadians. So for them to see these old places and landscapes kind of brings them back to the past in this province."

McGregor is no stranger to having her work on display in the 'land down under'.

"I have done a few shows there and the guy that I deal with that is from there (Australia) is a curator and he does sculpting, painting, photography and he has brought me into an international photography group called Inter Northern Photography and he helped me out and got me a separate show. All of my stuff I have just posted to there."

McGregor has done other shows in Australia, including three in Melbourne, but this will be her first in Sydney. She has yet to put on an art exhibition on home soil but hopes to do so soon.
