No postage is required if you are leaving your return at a Tax Services office. If you file after April 30, and you owe taxes, you will have to pay a penalty as well as interest. Also, your payments for any of the following benefit programs may be late: the GST/HST credit, the Canada Child Tax Benefit (and related provincial and territorial programs), and Old Age Security.
If you are self-employed, you must file your individual tax return by June 15. If you owe tax for 2006, you are required to pay the balance owing by April 30, regardless of when the return is due.
