The Canada Revenue Agency is seeking community volunteers to assist individuals in completing their income tax and benefit returns. These volunteers are needed to prepare returns for individuals who have low incomes and simple tax situations.
Volunteers will go through a training session and be provided with a kit of handy references and working material in order to help others in the community. Volunteers are not expected to complete more complicated income tax and benefit returns for deceased persons, bankrupt individuals, or individuals who have capital gains or losses, employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses.
The Regina Tax Services office will be offering free training sessions in February.
Individuals interested in becoming a volunteer are asked to call Laverne Stevenson at 1-888-780-7908 or Deanna Getz at (306) 780-7485.
