The Swift Current and Area Farmers Market will be starting up soon, and Market Manager Bep Hamer wants to remind anyone wishing to sell food items that a Food Safe certificate will be required by vendors this year.
The new ruling was officially adopted at the annual general meeting, held Feb. 14, to facilitate continuing good relations with the City of Swift Current and the Cypress Health Region and to ensure that food items purchased at the Market are not only safe but also properly labeled.
Membership is still $25 for the year and table rental fees will remain at $25 per day.
The Market will resume beginning May 11 at Swift Current Mall and will be held Saturdays only until Jun. 1.
Thursdays will be added beginning Jun. 6 and will continue until Sep. 26 at the Mall only. Hours for the Market at the Mall for both Thursdays and Saturdays will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The downtown Market Square location of the Farmers Market will resume June 15 and will continue on Saturdays only until Sep. 28, with hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The seasonal Christmas Market will be held at Swift Current Mall on Dec. 7, 14, 19 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
