Only an estimated three per cent of the 2012 crop was in the bin before rains arrived across the province according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report for Sept. 25 to Oct. 1.

The weekly report notes a full 97 per cent of this year's crop was combined, well ahead of the provincial five year average of 83 per cent.

Saskatchewan Agriculture reported 99 per cent of fields in the Southwest were combined, followed by the southeast (98 per cent), northwest (97 per cent), east central (95 per cent), west central (96 per cent), and the northeast.

An estimated 98 per cent of spring wheat and durum, 93 per cent of oats, 95 per cent of canola and 74 per cent of flax has been harvested.

They also note farmers are busy finishing up harvest, controlling weeds and hauling bales and grain.
