[Professional Blog] Winter Haters Unite

Published on March 21, 2013

I would like to call this IHW meeting to order.

Would all card carrying members of the I Hate Winter Club please stand and recite our club oath.

In unison: "I hate winter. Any winter where you have to shovel more than 10 times should be against the law. How can we think about gardening and lawn work when there is still snow on the ground. If snow was money we would all be rich, but it isn't, so nuts to winter."

Our first order of business is to send a letter of complaint to both Mother Nature and Old Man Winter for this past relentless winter. We unanimously agree there was too much snow and not enough warm days even for a Canadian winter.

Our second order of business is petitions for membership. Because this list of members is too lengthy to read out, I move that we accept all these members without further delay. In doing do, we simply have more people to share our misery with.

The next order of business is to complain about how ridiculous the winter of 2012-2013 has been. Even though we avoided the extreme cold which can grip the prairies, the relentless snow and ice of the past year took away much of the fun we could have had during the short days and long nights of winter. We have set aside four hours for this portion of the meeting.

Thankfully, last on the order of business is Spring. It can't come soon enough.

Carried. Adjourned.

Winter adjourned.

Just think, we are heading into the 7th month with snow. Will we make eight?
