A quartet of diverse acts will be taking to the stage for the 2009 Long Day's Night Music Festival on June 18 to 20.

The festival will again be hosted in the big-top tent in their home location southwest of Swift Current (on the corner of 11th Ave. and Marston St.).

The festival will have a high energy start when the Mocking Shadows kick off three days of music on June 18. Mocking Shadows are a powerhouse funk, ska, soul, reggae, and R&B band from Calgary. They are sure to bring the audience to their feet with their dance floor revitalization. This energetic seven piece band has toured with the likes of B.B King, ZZ Top, Jann Arden, among many others.

Roxanne Potvin is set to play on June 19. Potvin has a voice that will take audiences by the scruff of the neck and shake their souls. A young Gatineau girl, with honest and passionate songs, show her personality creating a spectacular show. She has also received a Juno nomination for Blues Album of the Year..

Concert goers will be entertained with a pair of headliners sharing the stage on June 20. The evening begins at 9 p.m. with Mykal Gambull starting the night off with his stage burning musical collections with genres ranging from and not limited to blues, surf, funk, pop, gospel and R&B. Gambull has had a chart topping single in Saskatchewan on the MBC Radio and a number one single on Winnipeg's NCIFM National Aboriginal Top 30 Countdown.

The event wraps up with Paul Pigat's energetic trio Cousin Harley, Western Canada's premier rockabilly and swing band. Cousin Harley is deeply rooted in the playing of Les Paul, Charlie Christian and Link Wray with a modern twist to create a style that is exhilarating in its intensity, yet at the same time fluid and precise.

Festival passes and individual performance tickets are now available. Festival passes purchased before June 1 are $50, increasing to $60. Individual concert tickets are $20 if purchased before June 1, with later purchased tickets costing $25. Tickets are available at Art Gallery of Swift Current and Pharmasave or by calling Shann at 778-2686.
